Wegger Christian Strømmen

Wegger Christian Strømmen (born 14 June 1959) is a Norwegian diplomat and politician for the Christian Democratic Party.

He was born in Larvik, and is a cand.jur. by education. He started working for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988. From 1993 to 1995 he was a special advisor to Thorvald Stoltenberg. He then spent one year as a sub-director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and then two years as a lawyer. From 1999 to 2000 he served as a State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a part of the Bondevik's First Cabinet. He then served at the Norwegian United Nations delegation in New York City from 2000 to 2004. He was the Norwegian ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva from 2004 to 2007, and to the United States from 2008.[1]
